Just as Black Sails was a prequel to Treasure Island , so this show is a prequel to 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea . However, that is where the comparisons end. The pirate show was shot on spectacular locations, whereas this is shot on some rather limiting sets. The result is an unavoidably cheaper look.

Captain Billy Millais (Luke Arnold - Black Sails ), Nemo's arch-enemy, pops up in time for a climactic confrontation. In fact, there is a whole series of climaxes. After all, there has to be one for each individual crew-member's subplot.
