Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 1]
The Mysterons
Captain Black leads a team of astronauts, the first men on planet Mars. They discover it is inhabited by the Mysterons, and accidentally destroy the Mysteron city. In revenge, the Mysterons vow to destroy the human race. Their first victim will be the President of Earth.
Captain Brown and Captain Scarlet are put in charge of the President's security. However, since this is the first Mysteron attack the Earthlings really have no idea what to expect.
Captain Black goes MIA upon his return to Earth. Anyone who pays attention to the opening credits will know that he has been compromised by the aliens. Is Captain Blue (Ed Bishop - U.F.O. ) able to take out an enemy trained and equipped to the same standard?
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 2]
Winged Assassin
The Mysterons' target is the Director General of the United Asian Republic. Captain Blue (Ed Bishop - U.F.O. ) is put in charge of the mission.
Captain Scarlet is being poked and prodded by the Spectrum doctors. He narrates a flashback to the car crash that killed him, which was aluded to but not shown in the previous episode. Scarlet has retained retrometabolism ... he can heal virtually any wound, even a fatal one.
The Colonel restores Scarlet to active duty, and he is sent to assist Blue. For better or worse, Scarlet gets a headache when he is close to a Mysteron construct.

Big Ben Strikes Again
The Mysterons announce their intent to destroy the City of London. By incredible coincidence, a nuclear bomb is being driven through the streets of London. Rather than just detonate it immediately, they remotely hijack the truck and park it in an underground garage. The driver is trapped inside, trying to escape.
The only clue to the truck's whereabouts is the fact that the driver heard Big Ben chime thirteen times at midnight. In the episode's final scene, Captain Blue (Ed Bishop - U.F.O. ) explains how this was a useful clue.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 4]
Manhunt
Captain Black leads a Mysteron mission to burglarise a science laboratory. He gets himself irradiated, which allows Spectrum to temporarily track his radiation signal. Symphony Angel is assigned to conduct surveillance. Somehow she gets herself captured. Does she get murdered and replaced? After all, this is the fate of another Spectrum employee this episode. However, none of the Spectrum staff even consider the possibility. Captain Blue (Ed Bishop - U.F.O. ) is just glad to have her back, since she is his date of choice.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 5]
Avalanche
The Mysterons intend to attack the Frost Line, the equivalent of the Cold War DEW stations. It is intended as an Outer Space defence system, although that does not explain why it is in Alaska and Canada. Also, why worry about alien spacecraft? The Mysterons can transmute artefacts on Earth at a distance.
Captain Scarlet and Lieutenant Green are sent to Red Deer base when it goes off-line after a Mysteron attack. General Ward wants to strike back. Apparently his missiles can hit the planet Mars!
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 6]
White as Snow
The Mysterons want to assassinate Colonel White, They will wipe out the entire Cloudbase to achieve this goal. Colonel White goes on vacation, using his contacts in the US Military to get him a passenger berth on a US Navy submarine. Of course, the Mysterons somehow discover this secret.
Captain Scarlet refuses the offer of temporary promotion, so one of the others assumes command.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 7]
The Trap
The Mysterons vow to attack whenever and wherever they are least expected. To make things worse, they give cryptic threats about when and where this will be.
The client changes the location to Castle Glengarry, which is apparently the most isolated spot in Europe. What we know, but Melody Angel only suspects, is that the client and his pilot have been replaced by the Mysterons.
For some reason, the Mysterons do not kill their prisoners. They plan a massacre, of course, but they will only kill when the plot requires it. Otherwise they just tie up victims who can easily escape and thwart their plans.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 8]
Operation Time
The Mysterons vow to kill Time. Captain Magenta suggests that the intended victim is General Tiempe, since Tiempe is the Spanish word for Time.
General Tiempe, a senior military leader, is scheduled to undergo brain surgery. Captain Black targets the General's surgeon. It seems that the Mysterons cannot just replace him directly, but that Black has to kill the man before he can be replaced.
The main twist is copied from a previous episode. However, there is a more subtle twist. Magenta is a real colour, although not part of the rainbow. In this episode it is portrayed as a shade of red, which puts it close enough to Scarlet for there to be a substitution.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 9]
Spectrum Strikes Back
Spectrum holds a special conference with the World President. Instead of having it at Cloudbase, they hold it at the secret lair of the Spectrum Intelligence Agency. This appears to be an independent organisation, with a similar-sounding name.
The base is in a remote hunting lodge. The entire building descends underground hydraulically, which is less extreme than the entire city of Marineville in Stingray but more than Straker's office in U.F.O. . The location has flat terrain with nowhere for intruders to hide, and the security includes a bunch of game hunters armed with rifles. Despite all this, somehow Captain Black gets in and out, not staying around to ensure the mission is accomplished.
The SIA has developed a couple of weapons based on the storyline of the previous episode. Yes, there is actual continuity between episodes. The Mysteron Detector is a polaroid camera with x-rays, and the Mysteron Gun is a tazer. Captain Scarlet gets to field-test them.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967) [Season 1, Episode 10]
Special Assignment
The Mysterons vow to obliterate the continent of North America.
Captain Black murders a fuel station attendant, part of an over-complicated plan to kill and replace a couple of men. The Mysterons used to be able to kill people long-distance, but now it needs to look like an accident or something.
Captain Blue (Ed Bishop - U.F.O. ) accompanies Capt Scarlet to a casino. Scarlet loses a lot of money, and ends up in debt to the casino. He has three days to pay up, and when he cannot do so they inform his employers. Colonel White sacks him for breaking regulations, even though Scarlet is the only super-powered officer. This is completely unbelievable, clearly taken from The Spy Who Came In From The Cold.
Paul Metcalfe, no longer Captain Scarlet, is seriously in debt. Some gangsters offer his IOU in exchange for access to an SPV. He bargains up to a 25% share of the score they are planning. They take him to their base, a remote ranch house that looks like the hunting lodge from a couple of episodes ago.
The Mysterons need Metcalfe to obtain and drive an SPV so they can attack Nuclear City in Nevada USA. Captain Black's inside info may no longer be usable, since Spectrum must have updated their security procedures. But surely he can drive it himself.

Attack on Cloudbase
Symphony Angel gets shot down, and is forced to eject from her interceptor jet. She parachutes into a desert, without water or supplies.
The Mysterons threaten to destroy Cloudbase. Colonel White establishes a 100-mile exclusion zone, and orders his staff to work increased shifts - four hours on duty, two hours off.
Destiny Angel conducts a search sweep, but gets recalled to protect Cloudbase. Captain White (Ed Bishop - U.F.O. ) is upset that Symphony has been abandoned.
Rhapsody Angel investigates an incoming radar signal. It turns out to be a series of flying saucers. This all becomes a bit reminiscent of U.F.O. .
The regulars get wiped out, one at a time. It all gets quite apocalyptic.
