This is set a couple of years after the Corto Maltese mission, as portrayed in the movie The Suicide Squad . Amanda Waller's daughter exposed her in Peacekeeper , so the US Congress forbade her from using human convicts. Her new plan is to use non-humans! She calls them Task Force M (for Monster).
Circe ( Anya Chalotra ) has created an army of Incels and used them to invade a pro-USA country. Well, a country that the USA wants oil from. Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo - Captain America: Winter Soldier ) and his new team are sent to protect Princess Ilana Rostovic ( Maria Bakalova ) so she can give the USA their oil treaty.

The Bride of Frankenstein ( Indira Varma ) takes Nina Mazursky ( Zoë Chao ) to the original Castle Frankenstein. This leads to a lot of flashbacks to the her origin story. The Monster coerced the Baron into creating the Bride, but was unhappy when she rejected him.
Circe ( Anya Chalotra ) and her army of Incels make their first attack. This follows the same theme as the flashbacks - toxic males with their sense of entitlement. Of course, portrayal is not endorsement. The country's female ruler, Princess Ilana Rostovic ( Maria Bakalova ), has her own sense of entitlement as she coerces Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo - Captain America: Winter Soldier ) into sex. His body, her choice.

Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo - Captain America: Winter Soldier ) and his new team arrive to save their colleagues. However, it is a diversion. Circe ( Anya Chalotra ) and her army of Incels make their main attack, intending to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic ( Maria Bakalova ). Luckily a couple of her men want to have a taste first.
The flashbacks this time are GI Robot's backstory. He was created in World War Two, and served with Sergeant Rock and Easy Company. His core programming is to kill Nazis. Unfortunately, when the war ended there were no Nazis left. This left him as a deeply paranoid robotic psychopath. Eventually he gets bought by a military surplus collector. Things get better ... for a time.

The team returns home with their prisoner, Circe ( Anya Chalotra ), who convinces Amanda Waller that the Princess is evil. Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo - Captain America: Winter Soldier ) begs to differ, because he slept with the Princess. The Bride of Frankenstein ( Indira Varma ) will get a temporary promotion.
Frankenstein has followed his beloved to Belle Reeve prison, the role the Joker played in the original Suicide Squad film. The difference is that instead of rescuing her, he just wants to kill any man she gets close to. In this case, the unlucky man is Flagg.
The flashbacks this time are Weasel's backstory. He is accused of killing 23 children, although he was only convicted of killing eight. Although he has a spirited defence lawyer, he is mentally incapable of assisting in his own defence. The twist is that, unlike GI Robot, he is a well-meaning soul who never hurt anyone.

Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo - Captain America: Winter Soldier ) is in hospital. Waller puts out an APB for Frankenstein's Monster, but it is too late. He is already on his way to Europe.
The Bride of Frankenstein ( Indira Varma ) and fish-girl hide out in a whore-house. Not only do they lack the stones to earn some side cash, they also predictably get violent against a couple of Johns.
Weasel gets lost in the woods, and meets a pack of wolves. However, the episode is really about Dr. Phosphorus. The flashbacks show his backstory, when he went from freelance scientist to revenge-crazed killer to crime boss ... in Gotham.

The assassins are in position to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic ( Maria Bakalova ). The only time they have a chance is when she is swimming. By incredible coincidence, one of the creatures can breathe underwater.
The flashbacks are of fish-girl's backstory. Her father, Edward Mazursky (Gregg Henry - ), was a scientist. He wanted to cure her asthma, but ended up giving her gills instead.
