The film starts with Carmen Electra imitating the Drew Barrymore opener to Scream. And the mix of straight parody and gross-out jokes lets you know exactly what you're in for. The killer sets about wiping out teenagers in a series of hilarious parodies of Slasher films. This is an extremely well-scripted film, and puts Scream to shame. Some scenes are taken directly from the original movies that this film is parodying. Shannen Elizabeth [American Pie] plays a cheerleader called Buffy. That is about as subtle as the references get. This film seems to be ground-breaking in the fact it got past the UK censors! Gore movies like Sleepy Hollow have gone unremarked when they produced gruesome decapitations. However, one of the gross-out jokes in this film includes an erect penis - shown on screen! Yes, the one thing the UK censors would not even allow in porno movies [except the Restricted 18 certificates, sold only in licenced porno-shops] has now made it past the BBFC. And don't say I didn't warn you!
